Eating Disorder Therapy

“How you do food is how you do life.”

Struggling with Your Relationship with Food and Weight?

Do you find yourself grappling with food and weight-related issues? You might be thinking, “I’m doing well in every other aspect of my life, but I just can’t seem to gain control over my food and weight!”

Perhaps you’re dealing with eating in secret, alternating between disciplined eating during the week and weekend bingeing, or constantly embarking on new diets. You might have repeatedly sworn off sugar or find yourself obsessing over what you should or shouldn’t eat. You might find yourself compulsively exercising to the point where it’s overshadowing other areas of your life. I understand how complex your relationship with food can be.

True Healing - not Just symptom relief

The problem with conventional approaches is that they tend to focus solely on addressing the symptoms, such as binge eating, purging, or sugar avoidance. While these approaches may seem effective initially, they often fall short in the long run, leaving you feeling just as trapped as you were with the original problem.

Your experience with disordered eating is unique to you, and so should be your path to healing. Together, we’ll delve into how this relationship with food was formed and what keeps it going. Instead of simply trying to eliminate behaviors, we’ll explore the underlying purposes they serve, honor those purposes, and experiment with new ways to fulfill those needs.

Who I work with

I work with clients struggling with various forms of disordered eating, including bulimia, binge eating, compulsive exercise, orthorexia, and more. I also address body image concerns and the subtler aspects tied to obsessive thoughts and behaviors related to food and weight.

Understanding your unique experience

My personal and professional background has taught me that each person’s experience is unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. I’m genuinely curious about your journey and how it manifests in your life. I’m interested in understanding the purpose it serves and the needs it fulfills, whether that’s a need for connection, soothing, excitement, or attachment, among others.
